California is Dying
California Is Dying uses the visual language of tourism to expose environmental collapse. Designed as a brochure and poster, the project appropriates California’s familiar imagery—sunset skies, open roads, iconic landmarks—and reframes them through drought-cracked land and wildfire-scarred landscapes. The format invites before it confronts. Bright colors and nostalgic typography echo the optimism of travel marketing, while the content reveals a place under threat. By turning a promotional object into a warning, the work questions how long California can remain an image of desire when its reality is defined by climate crisis.
